Tilt latch positions

A landlord from Connecticut says:
I have the CertainTeed top tilt latch, your part number 26-317. The thumb slider sits about 3/32" off the surface of the latch, because of the length of its mounting posts. I'm afraid these will break off or get lost.
Do you have an alternative?

Thank you for posting. You could always substitute your internal tilt latch with a a surface mount tilt latch. These are different than the others in that they just screw on. We have a video tutorial that shows how we do this.
