Tilt window balance with white vinyl cover

A quick learner from USA says:
Mine must be closer to 3/8. I am attaching a few pictures that might help in determining the best fit. I tried to get a picture of the outer diameter and the diameter of the spring. I am also including a picture of the tip. The cover is made of a thin plastic tube. Thank you so much for all of you help.

Looks like the outer diameter of your white tube is 3/8". Can you confirm? If so, I recommend our Series 900 spiral balance.
A handy person from Florida says:
Yes, the outside diameter is 3\8" . I was just concerned about the different materials in the tube. Why is mine a white plastic material and I have not been able to find anything like that?

Tom from SWISCO responded:
It's just an older version. I don't think many manufacturers make these balances with plastic tubes anymore due to how easily they break. They get very brittle due to sun exposure, and in many cases end up cracking and falling apart long before the spring itself actually wears out. This is not a concern with modern metal-tubed balances.
