Turning lever wont move

A quick learner from Fremont, CA says:
my sliding door looks form out side with the key, but when try to lock form inside using turning lever, it doesn't lock some time. every time we pull down to lock, it release back. after couple of attempt it locks but if we try to roll around the door side ways it unlock. do you think that is it turning lever problem or i need to change the lock machn. please advice me.

Thanks for posting! From what you've described, I'm thinking that you have a mortise lock similar to our 82-218. If you do, then you will have an adjustment screw on the face edge of the lock above the hook. Turn that screw one way or the other to adjust that hook in or out. The keeper/striker in the door jamb might also need to be adjusted up or down accordingly, so it can lock properly.
