Unique balance replacement

A quick learner from ft. myers florida says:
I HAVE A NUMBER OF BALANCES THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED....THE INPRINT ON THE BACK OF THE CHANNEL READS" UNIQUE 27 E".....HOWEVER THE LENGTH OF THE CHANNEL IS ACTUALLY 28 INCHES.....WHICH BALANCE DO I ORDER THE 27" LENGTH OR THE 28" ? AFTER READING A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT SITES I UNDERSTAND THAT THE LETTERING PART IE...E OR F OR D REPRESENTS THE VARIOUS STRENGTH BASED ON THE WINDOW WEIGHT IS THIS CORRECT....PLEASE ADVISE THANX.

First, would you happen to know what SWISCO balance Series it is you need? What length and stamp we recommend depends heavily on that. Once we know your Series, we can work from there.

Tom from SWISCO responded:
Hmm... it's odd that the stamp would read 27E if the balance is 28" long. I would go with the S770-28, but I would weigh your sash on a scale to determine what the best option would be. We have a chart on the S770-28 store page that shows the best options to go with a variety of sash weight ranges.
