Upgrade a sliding door lock assembly?

A home owner from Clearwater, FL says:
I have a sliding door that is 1 1/8" thick. I am looking to upgrade the handle lock assembly with something that at least feels more secure. I currently have an 82-002 with a handle set.

Is it possible to replace a current 82-002 with a Mortise type lock assy?

Dave Sr. from SWISCO responded:
You could ask a locksmith, but I don't know of any other lock that could work in place of the 82-002 that has added security. The best way to secure you patio door would be with something like our 80-006 security bar, or maybe even the 80-027 or 80-029.
