SWISCO - The Replacement Hardware Authority

Velux Roof Window Hardware

A home owner from Lynn, MA says:
After my husband was hospitalized I found the roof window slightly open, but without a crank. My husband claimed that he tried to use the crank that kept falling off to close it, but he couldn't close it. I haven't found the crank (hubby has traumatic brain injury so won't be going up to attic again). I took a picture because I'm not sure if something was broken off or whether I just need to buy a new crank.
User submitted a photo of a skylight operator.

Thanks for contacting us. Unfortunately, the handle stem is stuck in there. We see this from time to time and have tried all number of tricks, but nothing seems to be able to get it out once it's broken off like that. I'm afraid at this time the only solution we can recommend is replacing the operator and handle with our 39-405 and 39-555.
