Vent lock removal

A quick learner says:
I have two window where the vent lock (26-362) will not stay retracted so it blocks the window from going up all the way. How do i remove the vent lock and repair or replace it?

Vent locks like this actually have to be forced out. You would put a thin putty knife under the lip and then pop it out. It will break upon removal, I'm afraid there is no neat way to take one of these out.
