What color window balancer?

My window weighs about 20 pounds. Which is the correct color balancer to choose?

Thank you for posting. While sash weight is important when determining spiral balance tip color, we will need a bit more information. Namely, your spiral balance Series.

Is your window tilt, or non-tilt? What is the length of the spiral tube? Please do not include the tip or the spiral protrusion in your measurements. Finally, what is the diameter of the tube? With this information in mind, we can figure out your spiral balance Series, and from there we will know the appropriate tip color to choose.
A handy person from new jersey says:
I have a tilt window. The tube is 29 inches long and the diameter is 5/8 inches.

Thank you. It sounds like you have an S600-29. Does that look about right? If so, I would select the red tip option. An S600-29 with a red tip can carry a window sash weight range of 7 through 29 lbs.

This information is based on 2 balances per sash. Balances are designed assuming friction in the jamb weather-strip will carry a portion of the sash weight. Suggested sash weights are approximate
A handy person from new jersey says:
I have a 30 lb. window that uses a 5/8" balance on a tilt window. What is the correct color tip to use?

Thanks for contacting us again! Just to confirm, does this window have an S600-29? Is this a different balance than what you were looking for before? Please let me know!
