Which coil balance is this?

A home owner from Charleston, SC says:
The one on the right is clearly broken, but I'm not sure which one to replace it with? I have no idea what type of windows we have , but the home is almost 13 years old. Any suggestions??

Thanks for posting. Please see our 15-180 pivot shoe and Series 190 coil spring. I believe you'll find these match quite well.
A home owner from Charleston, SC says:
Thank you!! There are several options when selecting the coil spring. I'm not quite sure how to determine which number would be appropriate for my window. How do I decide on the right one?

Tom from SWISCO responded:
There should be a number printed on your old spring that you can use as a reference.
A home owner says:
I am searching high and low for a number stamped on my existing coil and the only one I can locate is an "8". They do not match the 4 digit numbers that I can select from.

With a stamp of "8," I would recommend our S190-840. Each of these springs can individually carry 8 pounds. Two working together (one on each side) should carry a sash weight of up to 16 pounds. You may want to weigh your sash on a scale to make sure that's right.
