Will these vent latches fit my old Certainteed replacement windows?

A home owner from Linden, New Jersey says:
I ordered 14 #26-148 vent latches and my old latches are 2 1/2 inches long by 1/2 inch wide and they are for old certainteed replacement windows. They are probably around 12-14 years old and the latch looks exactly like the 26-148. The only difference is the bottom hook is made of vinyl on mine and the new ones are metal. I read a customer question and the response was that they wouldnt fit on certainteed windows. Is this true?

Certaineed may have a window series that used these latches that we are not aware of, so their is a chance the latches may fit. Please let us know how you make out.

To Paul @ Swisco, I received my vent latches #26-148 and they fit in my certainteed windows perfectly. So I guess if people have older replacement windows from them then these latches will fit just fine. All you have to do is measure your old latches and make sure they are the right parameters. Thanks

A quick learner from Cleveland, OH says:
How can I remove a window limit latch from a 10 year old Certaineet window? I have a replacement latch part # 900-20122W. Looks like it will slide into place, but I cannot pry the old one out. Grateful for your advice.

A lot of vent locks aren't meant to be replaced. You can still do it, but you won't be able to remove the old one without breaking it, unfortunately.
