Window balancer replacement

A home owner from Gig Harbor, WA says:
One of the balancer springs broke in a circa 1990 Milgard vinyl SH window. The metal case is 22" and the stamp reads 2140R.

A home owner from Gig Harbor, WA says:
I have multiple windows that are the same size. Out of curiosity I've checked a number of them and have found several different sized balancers. Some are 21" 2020, some 21" 2030, one was 22" 2120, one had a 22" 2120 on one side and a 21" 2020 on the other side! All of the windows are 33 3/4" wide by 23 3/8" tall. They weigh 15 lbs.

All windows were ordered and bought new for new construction in 1989. This is the first time we have had a balancer break!

Thanks for posting. Based on your pictures, I think you might have our S385-22 balance. Carefully look over our information and see what you think. Assuming the other balances you mention have the same nylon attachments at either end, the Series 385 should work for them, as well.
