Hello, I need a dozen or two new window channels. Dunno why they continuously break, but they do.

Your balance looks a lot like our S385-31. Look it over and see what you think. This comes with the 19-005 top and 15-004 bottom, so as long as those are the same you should be okay.

As for why it's breaking, I can't really say for sure. One common reason why a new replacement balance might break early is because the spring strength isn't properly calibrated to match the weight of the sash. In your case, you have the 3040 spring option, which means your two balances can support a sash weight of 23 through 28 pounds. You may want to weigh your sash on a scale to confirm that this is correct.

It's important to keep in mind that stronger isn't always better. If your balance is too strong, your window won't close. If it's too weak, it won't open. You should make sure that it's only as strong as you need. Just something to keep in mind.

Thank you very much for the information I greatly appreciate it.
I weighed my window and it is 31 1/2 pounds. May I ask what you would recommend for this window? Should I stay with the 3040 spring or should I move up? Your expertise would be much appreciated.
Thank you!

Ah, I think we found the problem. If the sash weight is 31.5 pounds, I'd recommend the 3050 option.
