Window operator mechanism

A home owner from Forest, VA says:
I am looking for a replacement opener for my Anderson Window. This house was built in 1974. When I turn the crank, the corkscrew screws out and does not open the window.

Dave Sr. from SWISCO responded:
You definitely need a new operator. That corkscrew gear isn't supposed to come out, and there is no repairing it once it has. That being said, I can't tell which Andersen operator you have by just looking at the worm gear and cover. Take a look at the suggested parts on the right to see if yours match up to any of those operators.
