Winged Channel Balance Shoes

A home owner from Haslet, Texs says:
The channel balances in my windows have a winged shoe at the top but not the bottom. How critical is it that I match this configuration? Would having a winged shoe on top and bottom give the sash more stability when opening and closing the window?

One is marked 2130 and the other 2730.

Thanks for you help,
David B.

Paul from SWISCO responded:
You can order your replacement balances with winged fittings for the top and bottom. The wings help keep the balance centered for easy installation of the sash and helps with the performance of the sash movement. See our S385-22 with a stamp option of 2130 and our S385-28 with a stamp option of 2730. If you needed to, you could also simply clip the wings off of the shoes.

Thank You, Paul. I just placed my order.
