correct weight for window

A quick learner from Riley Twp, Michigan says:
Hello,
I currently have a Spiral Balance that is "aqua" in color. The window weighs 15 pounds. I'm looking to replace with the correct weighted spiral. Quite a few of the window spirals and boots are broken so I want to be sure that the spiral can lift and hold the window. (we will be purchasing the charging tool and sash spreaders).

Should I order the "red" spiral or go on the safer side of the "blue" spiral?

Tom from SWISCO responded:
Sounds like you had Blue Tips to begin with, so I would go with that. Every manufacturer seems to use their own different shades, but they're all considered Blue in the trade (or Red, or Green, as the case may be).
