29-Inch Balance Replacement

A home owner from Jacksonville, FL says:
I have multiple balances in my house that need replacing. I found a comment and response that is very close to my balances here, https://www.swisco.com/discussions/Replacement-for-Milestone-Series-1000-SH-Aluminum-from-Florida-Extruders-International-Inc--77-62650. My balance is 29-inches long with 28C stamped on the site. Width = 9/16". Depth = 1/2" (IMG_5436 appears to show the depth as 9/16"). The window label states CAR#: 279-171; Model: 1000 SH; Rating: H-LC45 940x1829 (34x72). I can post more picture if requested.

It doesn't look like the homeowner followed up on that original post, so I am curious if the recommendation given to him worked out.

Thanks for posting. We never heard back from that customer, so I can't tell you how he made out; however, I can say this is very likely an S380-29 Channel Balance. To confirm however, you'll need to measure the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe, or its measurement from heel to toe. The diagram below illustrates what I am talking about. If the depth is 1", then the Series 380 is indeed what you need; but let me know if it is less or greater than this in any way. For a stamp option, choose 2830.

Awesome! Thanks, Bob. The nylon shoe is 1" so the S380 is what I'll buy.

PS-My father is also in the same boat so I'll help him determine how to remove the window sash then remove the window balance. I'll direct him to you folks so he can get the right product.
