Anderson casement circa 1988

A contractor from CT says:

The plastic clip at the end of the operator arm (grasps the rail on the window) broke. Can I replace that end only, or do I need to replace the entire operator mechanism? If the entire mechanism, where do I find the part number on the original piece?

Thank you,

Andy

Thanks for reaching out! The plastic clip at the end of your operator is referred to as an Andersen Operator Shoe. This can be replaced without replacing the entire operator. You'll just need to remove the existing rivet and then rivet the new shoe onto the operator. Take a look at part 39-281 to confirm that this is the correct replacement.

In the even that you do decide you want to replace the operators, it is best to see a photo of the entire operator rather than go by information stamped on the hardware. In most cases they are numbers specific to the manufacturer.

Please let me know if there is anything else I might be able to assist with.

Have a great day!
