Hello, Take a look at the conversion video below which will walk you through the process of converting your windows to use the S795 channel balances to replace the discontinued crossbow balances shown in your photos. These replacements will work as direct replacements as long as the diameter of your balance spring measures 1/2". Thanks for posting! |
Ordered part #S795-22 Option 22C. Parts are seeming to fit, but window will only open up to 2 inches.

Thank you for clarifying. I see that you submitted a separate post, which I added to this thread so that all of the relevant information is in the same place. I see that the length and strength option of the S795 balances that you purhcased correlates to the balance length and sash weight that you provided, so I'm not quite sure what the problem could be. One thought that comes to mind is the diameter of the balance spring. As I mentioned in my original recommendation, the original balance spring would need to measure 1/2" in diameter for the S795 to work as a replacement. I would recommend double-checking that measurement just to be sure that isn't part of the issue. In the meantime, I'm going to have one of our senior experts review your photos and information to see if they have any other suggestions since this is not an issue we've encountered in the past when converting crossbow balances like yours to the S795. |
