Balancers

A home owner from Illinois. says:
Windows won't stay up and house inspector told us it's because of these balancers. Do you carry these if they are indeed the balancers?

Thanks for reaching out! The inspector is correct; the hardware you are looking to replace is a coil balance assembly. I am confident we can supply you with the replacements you need but you'll need to remove the existing assembly to review dimensions and confirm other information.

To start, the clip you have pictured here appears to be the 15-186 Coil Balance Clip which is used along with the 15-180 Coil Balance Shoe and the 15-182 Balance Bushing. To confirm that this shoe is the correct replacement for your assembly, carefully and compare the dimensions below.

This assembly uses the Series 190 Coil Balance, which is secured to the shoe using the 33-073 #8 x 1/2" Truss Head Screw. To determine the spring strength needed for your window, you'll need to look for a stamp/marking on the coils.

If there are none, you'll need to obtain the exact weight of the sash and divide that number by the total number of coils in the window. For example, if your window ends up weighing 12lbs, you'd need (2) 6lb coils, one for each side of the window. So, you would need the S190-640.
