Bifold Steel Door Pivot

A quick learner from Trenton, Mi says:
We have several 1950's 8' bi-fold steel doors and one of them is missing a pivot in the bottom track. Attaching an example of one that has the pivot and other one is missing the pivot. What is name of the missing part?

Unfortunately, we aren't able to supply a replacement for this old patio door track. It's just too old. That said, we  might be able to offer a substitute track for your doors.

To begin, can you please show the pivot pin that goes into the pivot, as well as the guide pins that slide in the track?

Our home was built in 1957 and the bedroom closet doors are original. They are 8' steel or aluminum bi-fold closet doors. We already ordered and received the brackets from swisco but didn't notice one of the "pivots?" Was Missing from the bottom track. Do you carry that or have any suggestions for replacement? I'm attaching a picture of the brackets we purchased and picture of the frame where it shows the missing piece we assume is the pivot. Thank you!

Thank you, this information is a huge help.

It looks like you bought our 23-020 and 21-214 brackets. The bottom bracket has a 3/8" cap, so I think our best option is going to be our 21-209 guide. The hole in this guide accepts a 3/8" cap so it may very well be your best option. The major question is whether it will actually fit in your existing track. You'll have to measure the size of the opening to verify.

Thank you so much for responding back! We stripped the doors down to the metal, sanded the tracks and purchased new hardware. They will look brand new once we seal and paint them and a lot cheaper than ordering new custom 8' closet bi-fold doors! Thanks again, finding your site was a blessing.
