Channel Balance

A quick learner from Belen, New Mexico says:

Hello, I'd like to verify this is the correct Channel Balance. I believe it is the 33" series 385. The part is stamped 3290 (see photo) but there is not a 3290 option in your sash weight menu. The sash physically weighs about 37 lbs. please advise.

Also, will the Pivot Lock Shoe, 1/2" Thick, Blue Break work with the 23" series 600 Spiral Tilt Window Balance? The old ones have just crumbled but what's left seems to match this description. The existing pivot bars have "ears".

Thanks

Hello! Your stamp uses an old rating system that is no longer in use by most window manufacturers. One of the more modern options for our S385-33 balance should work, but you'll have to weigh your sash on a scale to confirm.

As for using our 15-188 pivot shoe with a spiral balance, I'm less confident about that. I've seen it done, so you may be okay, but you really should try to get a hold of an undamaged version of your old shoe to confirm. Maybe check an identical window in your house that may still have its hardware intact.
