Constant Force Balance System

A landlord from 16057 says:
We usually use "96m Constant Force Balance System #7 or 740" that is what we have ordered and its very generic off of amazon. This does not seem to be the correct weight for some of the windows we have and I am completely unsure how to go up in weight. Like what do I order.

Hey there,

Thanks for writing in! Your shoe appears to be the 15-180 Coil Balance Shoe. This shoe is compatible with the Series 190 Coil Balance secured to the shoe using the 33-073 screw. To confirm the springs needed for your assembly, we typically suggest looking for any stamps/markings on the original coil.

If there are none, you'll need to obtain the exact window weight and divide it by the total number of coils. Then, on the list of balances, the first number after the 190 will be the weight you'd need to select.

For example, if your window ends up weighing 18lbs, you'd need (2) 99lb coils. Therefore, you would need the S190-940.
