Do you sell my Jeldwin Balances?

A quick learner from Florida says:

Hi

I purchased four Jedwin windows that were used to put in my home. They are from Lowe's the Atlantic final impact window. They are 52 x 62. I'm looking to replace the balancers in them. I believe they have spiral balancers in them right now and one in each window is broken, the outside casing is measuring 29 inches and they measure 5/8.

I was wondering which balancers I should purchase and what shoe I would purchase with them too. The only thing stamped on them is the number four the color of the rubber stop looks to be yellowy brown , I have attached pictures if you could guide me into what I should be buying to repair these windows.

Thank you,

Ken

Hey, Ken.

Thank you for reaching out to us. If the outer tube measures 5/8", I recommend the S600-29 tilt window spiral balance. Since the color of the tip doesn't match any of our options, you will have to weigh the window sash on a scale. Then, refer to the chart under the product description on the S600-29 store page to determine the appropriate tip option.

We'd be happy to help identify the shoe but we'll need to see a photo of an undamaged version removed from the window along with the written out thickness and width dimensions.

Thank you for replying to my question about window balancers I believe we will go with the black tip one as the sash way more than 40 pounds on each window now for the brake shoes I have included pictures of the brake shoe which we have removed.

We found numbers inside it that say, 4610108 the brakeshoe that we removed measures half inch thick 1 inch wide to end, 2 inches long I also found on the window balancer some numbers that were embedded on the casing, which read E 29M 273L I was not able to find anything on the website for brake shoes that are 1 inch wide.

If you could help me with what brakes shoe we should be ordering to go with the balancer that you have recommended that would be great thank you for your time.

Our 15-167 and 15-179 were the first pivot shoes to come to mind. The 15-167 is 9/16" thick and 1" wide, while the 15-179 is 9/16" thick and 15/16" wide. The important dimensions to focus on are the thickness and width. You may want to double-check the thickness, just to be safe! Take a look and see what you think.

I'm in the same boat as you Ken. I just installed the jeldwen impact windows a couple months ago. One window came with a broken spring and one broke last night. You may want to contact jeldwen to get them replaced under warranty. That's what I did for the window that came broke and they sent me an extra one so I was able to immediately repair the one that just broke. Now I'll be contacting them to try to get more since they seem to not be reliable.
