The number on the locking mechanism is PD 1000 and PD 1000-1

Thanks for posting. If you need a new thumb locking lever, I believe our 82-106 can work with this handle set. Take a look and compare with your old thumb lever to confirm. Note however that this sort of damage can indicate that the mortise lock in the door is broken and was the culprit of the thumb lever breaking. To check this, remove the handle set from the door and try 'throwing' the lockset with a slotted screwdriver. If it doesn't budge, then you know the mortise lock must be replaced as well. Send us a picture of the lock and we'd be happy to help.
