Door lock

I had the first lock for twenty years before it broke they sent me a new one and it didn't even last 6 months. I could use some help. I think it's 82-211. if you could I'd it with out me taking it back out. If not no big deal. I'll do it if needed. Thank you have a good day.

Thanks for reaching out! Your patio door mortise lock does look like it can be replaced with the 82-211 Mortise Latch & Keeper set. Although, you will need to carefully compare the dimensions to confirm that it would be a fit. Take a look at the diagram below for reference.

If your are having to exert a lot of force to opening and closing the door, that could be what it causing the mortise lock to fail. In that case, you'll also want to consider replacing the rollers on the bottom of the door. At the very least, you'll want to double check to see that there isn't any debris in the roller or on the track, or that that the track isn't damaged.
