How do you install these?

A quick learner from Michigan says:
I might order these if I could see how they get installed. Unless the ring detaches somehow, they can't possibly go in the same way as the regular plastic-capped pins.

Hello,

We don't have instructions for this pin but I'm going to have one of our senior experts take a look and see what information they can provide about the 70-171. We'll reach out as soon as more information is available. Thank you!

Hello,

I find that installing the 70-171 in a new screen frame is a little tricky. These types of pull pins are normally used to replace the same pin in an existing frame.

I would suggest using the 70-008 or the 70-009 with a smaller headpin in a new screen. Look over the related information and video for more information. Thank you!

A home owner from New Jersey says:
The 70-009 kits work really well, very easy to install. I put a small piece of wood under the replacement pin once it's placed within the hole in the frame. Then another piece (a 1/2" dowel would be ideal) of wood on the cap after placement. A firm but not heavy tap with a mallet or hammer on the wood and the cap will click onto the pin. 30 seconds. Did 2 frames in about 4 minutes. Wish I had found these years ago, would have prevented a few feline adventures...
