Alliance Sliding Closet Door Roller

A home owner from Indiana says:

I spoke earlier today (Tuesday) on the phone with Steve Rakoczy. I had problems with being able to forward photos to him via email. Please forward this message and the accompanying photos to him so that we can continue working on this together.

Steve-

Here are some pictures of the Alliance sliding closet door roller hardware. As best as I can tell, the diameter of the roller is 7/8, and the offset is anywhere from 1/2 to 5/8... maybe call it 9/16. A major design flaw with these is that the adjustment screw is made of plastic, and over time it gets chewed up by a screwdriver.  I would be happy to find something that was similar to these, but had a different mechanism for adjustment.

Thanks,

Brian

Thanks for reaching out to us, Brian. These photos are perfect.

Now, we don't have an exact match for this roller, but our 23-012 is similar in design. I don't know for sure if you can use this but I do think it's our best bet. Look it over and let me know what you think, or if you had any questions.

It's hard to tell from the product pictures you posted, but it appears that the adjustment screws are plastic, just like the old hardware I have right now. As I mentioned in my initial message, I'm really trying to avoid plastic, because it doesn't seem to be durable.

I'm afraid we don't have an alternative to that. There is a very good chance that your old roller is discontinued and no longer made, so odds are that you will not have a wide selection to choose from. I am sorry that we cannot offer anything closer.

I've taken another look at my existing hardware and I'm pretty sure it has a 3/4" overhang. The part shown in your post is 1/2". Do you carry it in a 3/4"?

Thanks for getting back to us with this information. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find a version of this roller with that kind of offset. It may very well be too old for us to get a hold of. I am very sorry for the inconvenience.
