Patriot Windows installed in 1996

A quick learner from Baldwin, Maryland says:
We have Patriot windows that were installed in 1996. The two bathroom windows will not stay open. The pivot shoes are broken on both windows. The Casing where the coil is stored has a red tip. The length of the tube casings are 28 1/4" and 23". There is also the color blue on the pivot shoe just above the hole where the window is inserted. The pivot shoe appears to be 1/2" in depth, 1/2" wide, and 2 1/8" height. My husband is very good at repairs. So, if you can let me know what I need we will get the parts and fix the windows.

Hello,

Take a look at the S600 or S900 spiral balances depending on if your tube has a diameter of 5/8" or 3/8". As for your pivot shoe, we would need to see photos of yours fully removed from the window. I would also recommend double-checking the width and thickness since only part of the shoe is visible to be measured while it is still installed. If you need the pivot bars, we would need to see that part removed as well with written-out dimensions to compare to our inventory. See the videos related on this page to help you and your husband through the process. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your quick response to my questions. I apologize for the delay, but, we were busy updated out bathroom and just completed everything. So, we finally were able to get back to fixing the windows. The Spiral Balance is 28" long and has a 5/8" diameter. The pivot shoes have a width of 1 3/16" and a thickness of 1/2". I am sending pics of both. We were planning to replace both Spiral Balances and both pivot shoes. Please let us know what parts we would need to order.

Thank you!

Karen

No problem. Based on your photos and dimensions, it sounds like you would need the S600-28 spiral balance with a red tip option. As for the pivot shoe, see the 15-046 below. Note that the width measures 1-1/4" but we do not have an alternative that measures 1-3/16" wide. Take a look and confirm that the specifications match up to yours.
