Pella retractible Screen door latch

A quick learner from USA says:
Latch has been replaced with Pella part but it doesn't hold the screen door closed.
Yes, my latch looks just like the picture on the 84-225. We put a new inside part that we had ordered several years ago for another Pella Door so I believe it is the right one. But the latch doesn't hold, it just flips open.

Hello there!

Thank you for reaching out to us. It sounds like it's broken and needs to be replaced. The 84-225 certainly looks like a good match. You should be good to go so long as the specifications match up.

A quick learner from USA says:
The part we removed had a number 777 V on it. Does that match the part in the picture 84-225? You suggest that it is broken but it was a new part?? It definitely looks like the picture above.
Tried to send you photo of old part with no success.

Hello,

Taking a look at the "black hook latch" in the 84-225 handle set, it does have "777V" stamped on it. Make sure your screen door is adjusted properly to meet the strike plate in the jamb. Also take a look at the information on installing the 84-225 handle. That might help with the issue of not latching properly.
