Please help with balance ridiculousness!

A quick learner from Maui, Hawaii says:
The channel balances in the window are different, which from what i read should not be the case.

Window is 14 pounds in weight.
Balances are both 1/2" wide.
Both are stamped 25 3.
Both have the same top hardware.

Channel 1 has pulley assembly built into bottom hardware is 25 5/8" long.
Channel 2 has pulley assembly in channel is 25 15/16" long.

Channel 1 had a thicker hook attached to the string.
Channel 2 had a smaller hook attached and an eye attached to the string.

I have no idea what this looked like attached to the window.

Please know that construction on this house was done as cheaply as possible 25 years ago so it is possible that the answer is not to replace exactly what is there.
I appreciate your time, consideration, and assistance. Let me know if I can provide further information.

Hello,

You are correct that most windows should use the same type of balance assembly on both sides. It looks like your window uses an extended-travel pulley system that you've labeled channel 1, which was replaced on one side with a more standard type of balance that they likely had on hand. With that being said, I can't guarantee that it is not the other way around and the standard balance was replaced with the extended-travel balance. To confirm, I would recommend checking the other windows in the house to see which type of balances they use. Once we confirm the type of balance the window is designed to use, that will help us narrow down your options. Thank you!

A quick learner from Maui, Hawaii says:
Ok i have taken apart all 9 of the similar windows.

Of the 9 windows, I found one extended travel balance each in 2 of the windows creating mismatched pairs. Based on the discoloration of the plastic, it looks like the extended travel balances were used as replacement parts.

So here are all of the stats for the original parts.

All window sashes weigh between 13.9 - 14.5 lbs.
Stamped 25 3.
1/2" wide.
26" in length.
The top hardware is winged.
The bottom hardware is winged
The bottom hardware is 1 3/32" deep.
I will include new photos of the hook as attached.
Please let me know if any other information is needed for identification of replacement parts.
Thank you for your time and attention.

Thanks for getting back to us! Your balance resembles the S385-26. The stamp code would formally correspond to 2530 strength options but the balance springs would be calibrated to support a sash between 15-19 lbs. If your sashes are lighter, then you would need 2520 options, which will support a sash between 9-15 lbs. Take a look and let us know if you need anything else.
