Remove 83-128

Hello! Hopefully I can help. In order to uninstall the 83-128, you will need a stiff-bladed putty knife.

The first step is to slide the blade of the putty knife between the latch button and latch housing, then twist it up and out. The latch button should release from the housing and allow you to pull it out.

Next, position the blade of the putty knife between the top or bottom of the latch housing and the screen stile member and twist it toward the lock side of the door. The latch housing will break; this is an intentional design feature and necessary to remove it, so don't worry. Once the housing is broken, you can release it from the screen stile and pull it out.
