Thanks for writing in. This looks like our 15-199 Pivot Shoe. This shoe is compatible with our Series 160 coil springs. The Series 160 coil springs are 1/2" wide, so measure the width of your old coil springs to confirm these matches. Judging from your stamp code you might need our S160-5, which supports 5 lbs of weight individually, but you will need to check the numbers on all your coil springs. If they are not there, or if you're uncertain, weigh your window sash. Give us that exact weight and we can work out the coil springs you need. If you need new housing, see our 15-205. |
Hello,
I finally took a balance out of my window frame to check for a complete part number. None of the 3 coils have it. I can see "5.0 35" P" at the end, and "x5" P" above "xx32208."
The window weighs about 26.5 pounds. The coils are 3/8" wide with a diameter of about 1 1/8". The pivot shoe is 1 1/4" wide and 1/2" thick with a rear brake.
Is there any other info I can collect to help you find the right replacement parts?
Thank you,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer. If the coils are 3/8" wide, then the Series 165 would actually be the right match. Thanks for checking! Now, let's forget the stamp codes and instead go by the sash weight you provided, which was 26.5 lbs. I suggest to double-check the weight just to be as precise as possible. Assuming it's 26.5 lbs, use (2) of the S160-5 5 lb springs and (1) of the S160-3 3 lb springs on each side of the sash. This would give you 13 lbs of support on either side of the sash, for a total of 26 lbs of support overall. So long as you're within a pound of the overall sash weight, this should be fine. Let me know if this makes sense to you. To illustrate how to remove and replace these triple supports, see the video below. |

No, it's always best to stay within a pound of your measured sash weight. If you feel confident you are measuring the weight of the sash as precisely as you can, it's best to stick with that number. Going way over the weight of the sash will make the window very hard to close. You always want to be as closely aligned to the exact weight of the sash as possible. For the weatherseal, start by looking at our 58-171, 58-182, or 58-183. See if one of these match what you need. |
