Replacement of Older Spiral Balance Tilt Type

A quick learner from Massachusetts says:

Hello, I hope to replace a pair of spiral balances for an older vinyl tilt window. However these older tubes have a slightly different look and measure 30.25 inches. Is your 30 inch tube length comparable? (See photos)

Thank you.

Hi there, Ed.

Thanks for reaching out to us. It looks like the tip of your spiral balance broke off. Since you have a tilt window, my recommendation would be the Series 900 (3/8" diameter tube) or Series 600 (5/8" diameter tube). When determining the diameter and length, make sure to only measure the outer metal tube. I know you said your old balance measures 30-1/4" long but in your second photo, it looks like you may be including the naked spiral in this measurement. We recommend double-checking this just to be safe!
