Salt buildup and corrosion

A quick learner from Massachusetts says:
We have a problem with salt corrosion on storm window latches. Does anyone know of a product that protects the window latch from corrosion and will lubricate the latches. WD40 is not an option as it does not inhibit salt corrosion

Dave Sr. from SWISCO responded:

Thanks for writing in! About the lubricant, I found recently that spray furniture polish works well in lubricating and might help keep the corrosion away. The reason being that the spray polish will coat parts with a wax coating.

Also take a look on the web site at the 91-033P latches which are a plastic version of the the 91-001P.
