Balance Shoe Question

A home owner from Irving TX says:
I think this is what is called a spiral balance shoe? Its at the base of the window and holds the Spiral Balances in place. I am not sure what the model or brand is on the window I believe it is from the 80s. I don't think it maters but I believe the spiral balance replacements are the 29" Series 400 Spiral Balance S400-29. If that helps (about to order those now)

Hello, thank you for posting,

To further review, this nylon piece is screwed on the bottom of the sash and the balance spiral passes through it and the bow tie locks on. Is that correct? Does the wide end lock into the window track? Let me know!

A home owner from Irving TX says:
Good morning attached is a picture of it installed. It screws into the bottom of the window on either side. It does not apear that the bow tie passes through it or that it locks into the track. Thinks it is more of a guide jist to keep the window pressed back(?)

The nylon fitting you are showing is a nylon sash guide and I'm afraid we were unable to locate it. Its purpose is to keep the sash level while operating the sash. Most companies now use a screw-on face guide like the 67-002, where they are mounted on the face of the sash: two on the top and two on the bottom of the sash sliding against the window track. However, I can't make any promises and you must be careful when drilling as you don't want to break the glass in the sash.

Another idea is to, if you or a friend have a workshop, purchase a small piece of 1/4" thick plexiglass or Lexan and with a band saw cut the shape you need and with a drill press make the holes to attach the nylon sash guide.
