Stamp Option?

A quick learner from CA says:
Hi. According to the attached pics, I was able to determine that I need the Series 350 Channel Balance (S350-27). My question is about the Stamp Option. I believe the "26-5" marking that's shown means I need the "2650"? If so, do people ever buy one or two levels up (like 2660 or 2665) in order to make the window easier to open and close?

If you could confirm what I need to order, I would appreciate it! Thanks.

Thanks for writing in. You are correct, this is an S350-27. Regarding the stamp option, 2650 is indeed the correct choice based on that stamp option. You actually wouldn't want to go with a higher grade. These stamp options designate a very specific weight range the balance is calibrated to support. Anything calibration stronger than your window sash's exact weight will result in a sash that's actually too difficult to close or keep closed; it will keep drifting upward on you, and be quite difficult (if not impossible) to shut! So sticking with the original stamp is always best.
