Storm Door Latch

A quick learner says:
The storm door latch does not engage because the tip seems to be broken off on the door side. I need the latch mechanism on the door end as well as the part that goes on the door frame.

Hello there!

Thank you for reaching out to us. We sell the 40-150 inside handle but this doesn't use a keeper, it just latches to the frame. However, you could try to use the 40-081. Take a look at the specifications for these parts and see what you think.

A handy person from Montpelier, VT says:
Do you have an inside handle with a more robust contact with the strike? I was told the the old inside handle that I photographed was no loner available. Is 40-150 the only one?

Thanks, Bill

Tom from SWISCO responded:

That is correct. You have the old EMCO brand handle set, which to my knowledge is no longer made. The 40-150 works perfectly well as an alternative, in my experience, but it is designed to latch to the frame and not a striker. The 40-081 isn't ideal but I think it is our best option. In a worst case scenario you could try to pack it out with washers to better meet the handle.
