Threaded Rivnut part # 21-148B

A home owner from Huntington Beach CA says:
What size drill bit should be used to pre-drill the hole for receiving this part?

Tom from SWISCO responded:

Thanks for reaching out to us! We actually took a block of wood out from our shop to test this out. After trying a few different sizes, I personally think a 3/8" drill bit will give you a good, tight fit. You can then secure the 21-148B in place using a 5/16" Allen wrench.

A home owner from Huntington Beach CA says:
Got it. Thank you Tom. I reached the same conclusion this weekend. Another question: Are you discontinuing this Rivnut part? If so, it might be wise of me to order a few more of them for future use.

Tom from SWISCO responded:

The 21-148B is in fact already discontinued. We're only going to sell these while supplies last, at which point they won't be available from us any longer. If you think you'll be using these in the future, then it may be a good idea to stock up.
