Trying to find the right balancers to replace old ones

A quick learner from Pittsburgh, PA says:
A balancer was popping out of the window sash, and after further inspection one of the string-holder, wheel-type parts was broken on one of my balancers. So I decided to look into buying new ones, but I cannot find the brand for my window on the actual window sash, sill, or anywhere else. The only label I found was on the balancer, that being just "30 3 AN CALDWELL."

Also, after look through some of your balancer options, I do not know the weight of my window sash, should I take it out of the sill and put it on a scale?

I hope you can help me find something!

Hey there,

Thanks for writing in! The replacement channel balance you need should be either the S380-31 with a 1" shoe or the S385-31 with a 1-3/32" shoe.

To determine which series is needed for your window, look over the dimensions from the diagram below to confirm the depth of your bottom shoe. Let me know if it does not match either measurement.

Your "30 3" stamp indicates that you'll need to select the 3030 stamp for a sash weighing 16 to 23lbs. However, if you would like to be sure that your sash falls between that weight range, you will need to weigh it.
