Hello Swisco. I ordered coil Balances in the past from your site (S152-6) and now I need some shoes, coils, and coil bushings. looks like I need the 15-180 Shoe but some of the responses that I read state that I should be using the Series 190 coil balances. Is that correct? Also which coil bushings should I be using?

Hi Michael, Thanks for reaching out! You are correct; the shoe you have here does appear to be the 15-180 Coil Balance Shoe. These are compatible with the Series 190 Coil Balance Springs. To confirm the spring strength needed for your coils, you will need to look for any stamps/markings on the coil. If there are none, you'll need to obtain the exact weight of your sash, down to the ounce, and divide that by the number of coils in the window.

This coil balance assembly uses the 15-181 Double Support Detent Clip, which is compatible with the 15-182 Balance Bushing. You may also need the 33-073 Trus Head Phillips Screw. |
