What are these called?

A handy person from Newcastle, Washington says:
I am in the process of preparing my windows for painting and want to replace the plastic strips pointed to in the attachment by poor attempts at blue arrows. They appear to be glued on and presumably replaceable. What are these called so that I can order them? I wonder if there are different flavors of these things and would need to choose one that fits my windows?

Please advise...

Thanks,

Alex

Hi there Alex!

This looks to be some type of jamb seal. However, I don't know if we have a match for it. Can you remove an undamaged sample and show us a clear photo of the end profile? That should help us confirm.

Thanks for the reply. Here is a photo from the end. Base is 0.5" and height is 0.25".

Is this a decorative item or does it provide some kind of protection to the frame?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the additional photo, Alex. This is a weatherstripping seal so it's meant to keep out cold air and moisture. Our 55-106 resembles what you have here. Have a look at the specifications below and let me know what you think.
