Window Balance

A quick learner from Chelsea, Manhattan says:
Twice a year I clean the outside of my windows for the last 15 years. The bottom window is removed so I can pull down larger window to clean the top outside of it. This year on balance came lose and fell behind my building. I tried looking for a serial number on the part but the only number visible is 1420.

Hello, thank you for posting,

It appears you have either our Series 351, with a 15-002 bottom attachment, or Series 390, with a 15-001 bottom attachment. Take a look at the image below to determine which balance you'll need.

If the balance is stamped with 1420, the length of the metal channel excluding the attachments should measure 15" long, please compare. You would need a 15" balance with a 1420 stamp option that can support a 6 to 10 lb window sash.

Please review and let me know if you have any additional questions.
