A contractor from Florida says:
28-4 BA CMC and either 11-1 or 1-1 (I can not make out the final section). Width is a half an inch. I have trying to find out what channel balance to replace my existing ones with.

Hey there, thanks for reaching out!

There is a chance that we can supply you with a replacement channel balances you need. However, to confirm the correct replacement balances, I'll need to see a photo of an undamaged balance removed from the window. Unfortunately, the stamp from the balance does not indicate the type of balance you need. It only tells us the weight range the balance should be able to carry to support the weight of your sash.

To properly identify them, I'll need to see a photo of any attachments that may be on the top or bottom of the balance.

If this is a tilt window, I'll need to see any attachments that could possibly be left behind in the window or that could possibly be attached to the bottom of the window. If there is a hook at the top of the balance, I'll need to see the space in the window channel where the hook connects.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the photos. Your channel balances are either the S380-29 with a 1" shoe or the S385-29 with a 1-3/32" shoe. You'll need to select the 2840 stamp.

To determine which series is needed for your window, look over the dimensions from the diagram below to confirm the depth of your bottom shoe. Let me know if it does not match either measurement.

The metal take out clip is part 16-002.

Your top sash guides look a lot like our 18-178 Channel Balance Guide Pair. Compare the dimensions and design to confirm that these are the right replacement.
