That's a difference in how much weight a pair of balances can support. We actually have a chart on the S377-24 store page that tells you exactly how much weight each option supports.

Two balances with the 2340 option carry a sash weight range of 18 through 23 pounds, but the 2330 carries only 15 through 18.

If you have any doubts that the 2340 stamp on your existing balance is accurate then you need to weigh your sash and refer to that chart to verify the better option.
