window balance replacement inquiry

A quick learner from Georgetown, Texas says:

Hello Swisco,

I have a non-tilt single sash window which needs new channel balances. It is 22" long and from the pictures you'll see that the upper end has wings while the lower one does not. I thought I found a replacement from your parts but for one thing. The marking on the broken balance says "2190". I believe this refers to the spring strength. I don't find this option available. Can you help?

Thanks,

Jeff

Emily from SWISCO responded:

Hey, Jeff.

With this combination of fittings, it looks like you have our S395-22 channel balance. Your "2190" stamp is actually an older rating system that we don't use. To determine the appropriate spring strength option, weigh your sash on a scale and refer to the chart on the S395-22's store page. That chart will show you which option you'll need based on the weight of your sash.
