Does the 70-009 plunger pin fit a 3/4"x5/16" screen channel? Do you need a special bit to drill the hole?

Yes, the 70-009 plunger pin will fit your screen channel. The plunger pin is installed using a step down drill bit. Take a look at these instructions on how to install plunger pins into screen window inserts. At the bottom of the page of the installation instructions there are related parts. There are two different size plunger pins and two different size step down drill bits. Make sure you choose the correct drill bit that will work with the plunger pin you choose.
