identify tilt window spiral balance

A handy person from North Carolina says:
The pictures are from a tilt window spiral balance that needs replacing. I'm thinking the S900 series, except that the length is 25-1/2" as shown in the picture. The tube is made of plastic not metal. Also as shown in the picture the tip is yellow, not red or green, the options for the S900-25 and S900-26. I weighed the sash, it was 20.5 pounds.

My questions are:

Do I go with the S900-25 or S900-26?

Since the yellow tip is not an option, should I go with the green tip because the weight of the sash is about in the center of the range of weights supported by the green tip?

Thanks!

Thanks for posting! Based on your pictures, I think you should go with the S900-26 spiral balance. As for the tip color, you should choose whichever supports your sash weight. If the Green Tip comfortably covers the weight of your sash, then it would be a good choice!
