pivot bar vinyl tilt window

A quick learner from mt Pleasant S.C. says:
Longest side is 2 1/2 inches and has the hole 1" from end. The next area from the bend is 1 5/8" in lenght. The Smallest piece paralleling the longest is 5/8" long.

If I use the standard 3" pivot the window will not go down quite all the way as the curve area goes into the well. Some of my windows have the standard 3" and others are weird like this one. Hope you can help.

I recognize this pivot bar. This is from an old Metal Lite window. Believe it or not, I've used the 26-040 as a replacement in the past. I do not believe the bend is necessary. Check it out and see what you think.
A quick learner from Cincinnati says:
Is there anyway to get that exact pivot bar. Can't find one anywhere!!!

I'm afraid this pivot bar is not made anymore. However, when I was doing service calls for Metal Industries, I used our 26-040 tilt bar and it worked fine.

Just a follow up to this thread.... I have the same broken "S" shaped pivot bar in some of my MIWD/Capital windows. After reading the reply to this thread from Paul , I took a chance, and ordered a few straight pivot bars (26-040). As a homeowner I can confirm that the straight pivot bar works the same as the "S" shaped pivot bar for my windows. As a matter of fact, after testing the operation of all of my windows, I noticed that although the windows are the same, some pivot bars are straight and some are "S" shaped. So either version works just the same.
Thank you for this informative information! You saved me time and money by doing a 10 minute fix on my own.

This is great news! Thank you so much for confirming that our 26-040 works. Hopefully this helps others in the future with the same problem. We are of course always happy to help.
