removing spindle from old knob?

A quick learner from Minneapolis says:
The new Swisco knob I have now is great but I cannot get the spindle off the old Emco knob. Any suggestions?

Dave Sr. from SWISCO responded:
Emco installs a small set pin inside the old handle. I have found that you have to take the old handle completely apart to get to it. I have done it in the past, so it is possible. Use a small nail or drive pin to tap it out of the old handle once you get to it. You might need to put the old handle in a vise to hold it while you perform the job.
