replacement spiral balance

A home owner from Bristol, CT says:
I have 60 year old wooden non tilt windows with 25"spiral balances with 5/8" diameters. The individual window sash weighs 12.6 lbs. What tip color do I need for these springs? It looks like I may be able to replace what I have with series 500 and bracket #32 looks similar to what we have. I'm uploading a photo for reference. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for posting! Please take a look at our S500-25 spiral balance. It looks like you need a bracket, too, and I think you should go with the 17-033. I would also suggest the red tip, which can carry a window sash weight of 7 through 29 pounds.

Please keep in mind that the weight range information is based on 2 balances per sash. Balances are designed assuming friction in the jamb weather-strip will carry a portion of the sash weight. Suggested sash weights are approximate.
